Home of the Tigers
Located in Sudbury’s growing South End, Algonquin Road Public School is dedicated to providing a learning environment where students are inspired to become lifelong learners and caring, responsible citizens.
With an enrolment of approximately 370 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8, Algonquin Road offers a range of programs and services to support student success. These include full-day, every-day Junior and Senior Kindergarten, Special Education support services, and a Before and After School Program operated by Jubilee Heritage Family Resources. Algonquin is also proud to offer some of the Rainbow District School Board’s strongest co-curricular Music and Sports programs.
Parental involvement has always been a valued part of the Algonquin community. Parents play an active role within the school and their support of student projects, events, and excursions is both encouraged and appreciated. Working in partnership with staff, the School Council helps ensure the school continues to meet the academic, athletic, social, and emotional needs of all students.
Algonquin teachers take pride in fostering a strong academic environment where students are supported and challenged in their learning. Our students have earned recognition in the arts, athletics, skilled trades, and environmental stewardship, and we are very proud of their accomplishments.
In addition, students, parents, and staff have embarked on an exciting project to enhance the school grounds with new basketball standards, outdoor learning spaces, soccer posts, picnic tables, and a playground structure. These improvements remain a key focus of our ongoing fundraising efforts with community partners.
At Algonquin Road Public School, we are committed to student success, one student at a time.
